Operation: When the red wire is connected to the positive pole and the black wire is connected to the negative pole, the iron core will be sucked in. Since its tail has a strong NdFeB magnet, when the power is off, the iron core will stay sucked by the strong magnet and still remain in place.
If you switch the polarity: the red wire is connected to the negative pole, and the black wire is connected to the positive pole, the electromagnetic force will push the shaft out.
The solenoid should not be contantly energized as will generate heat, pulse current is enough to make the push - pull action. It is recommended that the power to be apply not more than 5 seconds.
