Title: A20 Lime NAND - How to flash?
Post by: Laggger164 on March 07, 2022, 12:14:27 AM
Hello,
I wish to buy and use this board: A20-OLinuXino-LIME-4GB (https://rlx.sk/sk/arm-allwinner-rockchip/3141-a20-olinuxino-lime-4gb-olimex-a20-dual-core-1ghz-mali400-gpu-512mb-ddr3-4gb-nand-sata.html)

From the pinned post (https://www.olimex.com/forum/index.php?topic=1502.0) in this forum I am not sure how to use it though, is it the same procedure as said in the manual, just with a different image?
How do the full and minimal image differ?
Can I use the 4GB NAND flash on the board?
Is it safe to use an older image in case I really want to use the NAND flash? Are repositories still working too?

Thank you for your help!

I have mentioned in the document here:

https://github.com/OLIMEX/OLINUXINO/blob/master/DOCUMENTS/OLIMAGE/Olimage-guide.pdf

Sure all files are up there and still working but quite outdated and can't be easily updated. But if you need NAND instead of eMMC, then you are stuck with these older images.

NAND is not supported in latest Linux releases. Only eMMC.
