SD-Card Performance MOD-MP3-X

Hello,
we have a MOD-MP3-X here an see bad SD-Card performance :
* 1 card (1 GB SD) works both as mass storage and replay. But transfering data from PC to SD card is very slow, about 1 minute for 8 MB
* 1 card (4 GB SDHC) only works in mass storage. When starting replay "insert a SD-card and restart" appears
* 1 card (also 4 GB SDHC) neither works in mass storage nor in replay (when copying data with a SD card writer before.
We already programmed the new firmware available at OLIMEX homepage but it hasn't become better. There is already another thread here and they write there the bad performance is already fixed in new SW. So I'm not sure whether I have done something wrong when compiling/programming the new SW. Can I see the SW version?
Or isn't it really fixed at all?

Has nobody GOOD OR BAD experience with SD-Cards?
Where is Olimex support?
