MOD-GSM not Working

Hi ,


  We Recently bought one olimex MOD-GSM module. I connected the MOD-GSM module to MOD-USB-RS232 through UEXT interface and i connected MOD-USB-RS232 to my PC and Opened the hyper terminal and trying to send SIM340D AT Commands in hyperteriminal, but nothing response is coming from GSM module. I am not understanding where is the problem. Moreover,  whatever commands  i am typing on hyperterminal is also not visible, but i checked the MOD-USB-RS23 its working fine.  Is MOD-GSM module having default firmware or otherwise we want to program any firmware in to it ,through which interface it will get programmed and which compatible Debugger/programmer i want to use for programming  this  SIM340D. Please guide me how to uses this module properly.
