Problems with Microphone jack

I have tried to install an Olympus lavelier microphone on my a13 but it is not working. Is the microphone jack a 3 pole or  2 pole on the board? Also has anyone had any luck installing a microphone to the board and if so what brand? Any help is always appreciated!!!
