Adduser makes a mess

Not liking to run under root, I used useradd to create a new account.

It seems that the account was created but in turn, the system has become unstable and some applications don't have access to audio interface when I loggin under this new account. Again, when retruning to root  it works again very good...what am I missing ?

What is the best method to create a new user account by keeping all peripherics enabled and the system intact?
