Just as a ridiculous idea... but it was the only really simple/practical thing I could think of to improve the Olimex ecosystem - A single non-PTH protyping board that would would for the EVBs and the Devboards simultaneously with ready to populate headers, silkscreened with signal labels. Pretty much a "sea of holes and pads" board, with the headers for the A10/A13, A20, etc board/EVB's around the coastlines. Or for even simpler, board-specific versions of the old-fashioned "push-pin" style "solder-side/component-side" pin-label templates that I used to use when wire-wrapping.

It sounds as if an A3x (A33? US$4) based board (updating the A20 based boards?) would be relatively "simple" route to Quad-A7.

The A80/A83T is attracting a lot of attention, but I would think it is a bit "new" still for general purpose hobbyist use.

Possibly a Freescale i.MX6x (the A9/M4 SOC) board? The chips are pricey, but interesting.

But then, I am Borderline Clueless.
