Hi guys:

I have a Pinguino 32 OTG and I'm stucked 3 days trying to make it work with the Pinguino IDE, but I can't.
So, my question is: Can I use the Pinguino OTG default bootloader with some stand alone bootloader?

Thanks
Rodolfo.

Hey Rodolfo,

Did you enter bootloader mode? The correct algorithm is:

1. Press and hold down the user button BUT.
2. Press and release the user button RST (Reset).
3. Release the user button BUT.

PIC32-PINGUINO-OTG is made specially for Pinguino IDE. We worked closely with the Pinguino IDE creators so it should be fully compatible.

Hey Lub:

Yes, I did. The yellow and green leds were blinking.

I read lots of forums and tutorials trying to connect my board with the Pinguino IDE in windows 7, but I can't. So, my question about if I can use it with a stand alone bootloader.

Do you believe I can?

Thanks
Rodolfo.

Hello Rodolfo,

Can you post some pictures of the problem. It is hard for me to understand exactly at which step the setup is failing. Is the board visible in device manager as a new COM port? Which Pinguino IDE version do you use? What is the error message you receive?

What do you mean by "stand alone bootloader" - like a bootloader software released by Microchip and not affiliated with Pinguino?
