kivy app performance issues?

so i upgraded my drive to 32 gb, and updated my packages. then i installed kivy as per the instructions on their docs page. i then dropped 3 small 1 page apps on it that i wrote and work flawless on my laptop, but when i run them on the lime2 theyre super laggy. it throws up some errors with lib gl and a mali driver but im not sure what to make of it. does someone here have some experience working with kivy on this system? im very certain the board can handle it, but my buddy said something about making sure the board is compatible with open gl es bc kivy uses that to handle all the graphics
