If we use the same software, the same board and we get different results (working here, not working at your side) - this means only one thing - the issue is not in the board, nor it is in the Linux image. I suspect the network equipment settings (router, switch, etc) - DHCP settings, firewall settings, etc.

You're probably right, and indeed the router in my place is quite old. I'm going to browse through the release notes, but do you know of any network protocol/functionality that was deprecated between the 2 kernel versions?

It would be easier to look for the exact model router and if someone reported problems with newer Linux
