I try to connect LIME2 with external DAC (CS4344)

playing internet stream using VLC

strange noise at output
(the same stream at headphones out working OK)

I do some measurments using osclioscope
and:

MCLK - ok 12,284
LRCK - ok - i see data stream
SCLK  - ok 192 KHz
Digital out - not ok noise but i see also some data frames at very low level about 300mV
i test is at two olimex lime2 board - the same problem

jumper PB3/PB8 is open at PB8

any ideas ?

i just bought A20-OLinuXino-MICRO (i remove R136 resitor) + PmodI2S http://www.digilentinc.com/Products/Detail.cfm?Prod=PMOD-I2S and i can confirm that i2s working in this configuration.

i go back in this weekend to LIME2.

Now i can tell - i am almost happy
tested with format 44100 and 48000.
96000 and 192000 not working yet

Sorry to revive the 'dead' thread, but did you succeed to get i2s running at higher speed?


I have one lime2 board lying around and want to play with some DACs... so was wondering if you were successful?


becaus I saw in armbian forums that i2s is working only in 3.4.109?

I'm also trying to get I2S to work with the newer Armbian releases and mainline kernel. Do you have a working I2S setup?
