Error when upload my program to Olimex ESP32-EVB?

When I upload my program to Olimex ESP32-EVB, I get the error message "Failed to connect to ESP32: Timed out waiting for packet header". I have double checked the COM port and uploaded it correctly. What is the cause of this error and how can I fix it?

Usually wrong COM port selected.

High upload speed, try to lower to 115200.

Can be that some hardware keeps the bootloader from starting. Make sure no button or peripherals are attached to the board.

Bad USB cable or serial port can also be the issue. Try with another port, cable, and maybe even another PC.

What operating system do you use and how is the board listed by the operating system?
