There are a few GPIO samples (such as on Olimex wordpress) using python so "sort of".

You've seen https://pypi.python.org/pypi/pyA13/0.1.12 ?

Maybe someone will adapt the one you posted (or any it leads to) to work on Olimex - you, maybe?
