SHIELD-EKG-EMG process in audrino

I want to do a project in which I will read the value from the shield and process the value and use it to control some device all in my ardunio . Is there any documentation on which pin to read etc ? do I need to create some sort of a filter for the signal .

Whats the D4 or D9 used for ? and the CAL_SIG . Any in depth documentation . I cannot find any in the user manual
