read / write Modbus RTU devices

Hi there,
I would like to read / write Modbus RTU devices via arduino IDE with an ESP product. I absolutely need a web server and RJ45 socket and so much now my choice of ESP32-POE or  with MOD-RS485.
I read in this forums, not so good experience in this constellation. are there better experiences or tutorials for RS485?

I only want to create a Modbus-RTU to Modbus-TCP converter for the beginning after that I have more plans...

Ask for information whether here who is who has experience in this constellation and whether the set then runs stably.
