Hi to all,

just wonder if the PIC32 boards gets produced again in the future? I liked them very much, but I guess today there are not a big seller any more. Any way, here are some thoughs on them:

PIC32-PINGUINO-MICRO was quite good. After a while I have desoldered the UEXT connector and solderes pinheads to the other side. This way I could use the extra pins too on a doughther board. One thing was, that there is a resistor on some of the lines (one of the UEXT lines), that mess ups the deep sleep current. The flash can get small, but lukylie the PIC32-RETROBSD have more of them.

PIC32-PINGUINO-OTG is also quite good. Here also a bigger PIC would be good. The battery measurement I have never really understood. The resistordivider have a too big impedance, so that the internal sampler needs several samples to charge up. This I guess makes the measurement uncertain. So I never used E_MEASUREMENT, I always used the divided values. I wonder if somebody used the CON3 on the PCB? Maybe Olimex could sell the connectors too? Or some extension boards for it. One thing I was not able to get work, is to determine who is powering the board (USB/LiPo/9V input).

Connectors like this:

The powering priority is as follows: Power jack (9V in your case) > USB > Li-Po

CON3 on the Pinguino OTG is a 0.05 spaced connector if I am right. It is not the standard pin header.

In the PIC32 itsel from SW, I think it is not easy to determine. It was also some years ago when I tried, but as far as I remember, I had problems to read out from the USB module if there is power on the USB. I think I will check this again in the future. I mean USB can be read out theoretically. LiPo can be measured. If not of them gives power then obviusly it is external powered :)

It is 0.1" spaced. If jumper wire fits in it is 0.1".

But we also sell 0.05" connectors, like here (these are usually used in our Linux boards):
